Your Calls and Actions are Needed to Stop the Biggest Iraq War Spending Bill!
Congress Expected to Vote on War Appropriations in mid-May 2008.
Take Action Now!
During the past five years, the U.S. Congress has approved the spending of more than 526 billion dollars for devastating war and military occupation in Iraq.
The Bush Administration is now seeking another $178 billion for funding the U.S. occupation of Iraq.
The House leadership brought together an appropriations bill to give President Bush more than $162 billion in war funding. These massive appropriations would be the last war supplemental voted on before the November 2008 elections, combining war funding for the remainder of 2008 and for the first few months of 2009.
On Thursday, May 15, 2008, the $162.5 billion war funding measure was voted down in the House of Representatives!
However, the Senate Appropriations Committee approved and the full Senate is now debating a massive spending bill combining $165 billion in war funding, with money for domestic issues.
As the 2008 elections approach, every Senator and Representative should be questioned on how they intend to END THE WAR.
The only effective way to end the U.S. occupation of Iraq and bring the troops home is to STOP PAYING FOR WAR AND OCCUPATION!
Please CALL and E-MAIL your Representative and Senators and tell them to vote “NO” on the $165 billion war funding bill!
And encourage others to call and write as well! ~ Thank You!
