CALL or VISIT Your Representative TODAY: “No More Iraq War Funding!”
After the House of Representatives voted down the Iraq War funding portion of a larger spending bill on May 15th, the U.S. Senate turned around and approved the war funding measure on May 22, 2008.
The House of Representatives will revisit a war funding measure when Congress reconvenes in early June. We now have an opportunity to again compel a majority in the House to vote against more war appropriations before a spending bill is sent to the President for approval.
Calls, e-mails, and visits to, and nonviolent actions at your Representative’s office are needed to make it clear that the people want an end to this immoral war and occupation.
The Declaration of Peace encourages diverse, passionate, and creative expressions of your opposition to further funding for the U.S. occupation of Iraq.
It is uncertain when the House of Representatives may vote on the war appropriations measure. The vote will likely take place after June 9th.
The important thing is that you communicate with your members of Congress about the need to end funding for the war and occupation in Iraq.
Our Representatives must hear from everyone one of us, by word and action, before the funding vote takes place.
