Every man of humane convictions must decide on the protest that best suits his convictions, but WE MUST ALL protest.

Nearly 600 End-the-War Events Planned Nationwide!
The Declaration of Peace has worked with United for Peace and Justice over the past two months to promote and encourage actions around the 5th anniversary of the U.S. invasion of Iraq.
Thanks to your tireless local organizing, phone calls, e-mails, and sharing with others on conference calls such as the Feb. 18th Declaration of Peace National Conference Call, more than 555 events in all 50 states will take place during the next week.
These events and actions are listed on the “5 Years Too Many” event calendar and on The Declarartion of Peace event calendar.
If your event is not yet listed, please post it here now!
Powerful D.C. Actions
Thanks to the efforts of United for Peace and Justice and numerous other organizations, the “5 Years Too Many” actions in Washington, D.C. will be some of the most varied, creative, and powerful anti-war events in many years.
In particular, we encourage all who can to come to the march on Wednesday the 19th at 5 p.m. People will gather at the Reflecting Pool on the west side of the U.S. Capitol Building, and march to the Democratic National Committee headquarters. Visit the DC events information page or e-mail for more information on this march.
Our work matters!
Through our combined efforts, we are telling a story, a story different from the one being sent out from the White House, from Congress, and from the mainstream media. We are saying, “End this war and work for a just Peace in Iraq and the Middle East”.
Iraq needs a Comprehensive Peace Plan.
Howard Zinn put it clearly and powerfully at the end of a speech he gave in Madison, Wisconsin in Dec. 2006:
‘Everything we do is important. Every little thing we do, every picket line we walk on, every letter we write, every act of civil disobedience we engage in, … even though at the moment they seem futile … Change comes about when millions of people do little things, which at certain points in history come together, and then something good and something important happens.’
Tell the world!
Don’t forget to post your event reports and news coverage to Declaration of Peace website.
Also, post your Press Advisories and Releases now.
We in The Declaration of Peace are inspired and motivated by the work that all of you do, and we hope we have been able to share some inspiration and motivation in return.
Thank you for your diligence and hard work!
We’ll see you in the streets on the 19th!
