As part of your Declaration of Peace action planning, please add a contingency plan about Iran:
There is increasing concern that the U.S. will attack Iran. In addition to your planning to take action to end the war in Iraq, we invite you and your community to develop an “emergency response” plan if the United States carries out a military attack on Iran. To see a plan you can use or adapt, click here [1].
Contact Congress to take steps to prevent a U.S. war on Iran:
Members of Congress have introduced several pieces of legislation that would limit the president’s ability to attack Iran without congressional approval. Rep. Walter Jones (NC) has introduced one of the strongest measures, a joint, potentially binding, resolution that would require the president to obtain congressional approval for any use of force against Iran. This legislation, which already has bipartisan support, could prevent the expansion of the conflict in the Middle East. But it needs more cosponsors. Urge your representative to support Rep. Jones’ resolution H.J. Res.14 [2] that would prohibit the president from attacking Iran without congressional authorization. Help send the message that war with Iran is not an option.
